A Murder Mystery at Ethelmoore Manor
The Velveteen Theatre Company have seen better days.
Their latest venture? A murder mystery evening at the crumbling and notoriously peculiar Ethelmoore Manor.
The plan is simple: the guests arrive, the actors perform, a murderer is revealed, and everyone goes home with a good story to tell.
Unfortunately, nothing goes according to plan.
As a freak storm descends upon the manor, the guests fail to arrive, the lights begin to flicker and the increasingly nervous cast find themselves trapped inside a house that seems to have a life of its own.
With no audience to perform for, the Velveteen company decide the show must go on.
After all, theatre is theatre.
Isn't it?
But when the fictional murder suddenly becomes a little too real, the lines between performance and reality begin to blur.
Was that really part of the script?
Why is there blood on the floor?
Who keeps moving the bodies?
And exactly how much does Mrs Ethelmoore actually know about what's happening in her own house?
Because despite claiming to be completely blind, she seems to have an uncanny ability to know exactly what's going on...
As the storm rages outside and the body count begins to rise, the remaining members of the company must figure out who—or what—is behind the madness before the final curtain falls.
Who will survive the play?
Who is playing whom?
Is anyone actually following the script?
And, most importantly...
Will Luke ever get laid?
A twisted tale of murder, mayhem and theatrical disaster, VELVETEEN is a darkly comic romp through the crumbling halls of Ethelmoore Manor, where the actors are trapped, the audience is missing, and the show must go on...
Even if someone has to die for it.
